Zaiden's First Poom Black Belt Essay
First, I want to say a big thank you to my great-grandmother, (Alversia Vinson) and my Aunt (Stephanye Vinson), Master Kim, Master Ollie and Mrs. Kathy. My great-grandmother brings me to Taekwondo practice every single day, even when it is raining. I love spending time with her, and I love Taekwondo so much!
I love Taekwondo because Grand Master Park is really nice and he always believes in me. One time, I had a bully who kept taking my lunch, and I felt really sad. But Grand Master Park helped me. He showed me how to stand up straight, be confident, and use what I learned. After that, I was not scared anymore, and the bully stopped bothering me.
In 2024, I got to go to Nationals, and it was so exciting! I felt nervous at first, but then I remembered all my training. I won the Tiger and Dragon match and got a bronze patch from the USATKO National Championship. I was so proud of myself! Now I have 15 trophies and medals from Taekwondo.
In 2024, I was also student of the year, and that made me feel really happy because it means I worked hard and listened well. I even earned a spot in leadership, and I try to help other students the way the big kids helped me.
I am super happy to be testing for my black belt. I trained for a long time for this. Taekwondo makes me feel strong, brave, and proud of myself, and I cannot wait to keep learning more.
